This video is dope.. The Infectious album from Jigmastas was my first record what i bought and was instantly excited. A long time a haven’t heard from these both guys and found yet this finest dope video on vimeo. The lyrics of MC Kriminul are breathtaking and together with DJ Spinna, the duo is simply world class. Big up and respect..
DJ Spinna reunites with Krym of The Jigmastas and pays homage to the city that raised them. In New York, DJ Spinna creates a boom bap canvas that allows Krym to lyrically paint a picture of what life for a shorty was like during pre-gentrified New York. Director Mark Carranceja infuses his cinematic style while incorporating a look synonymous to ’90′s hip hop music videos. DJ Spinna, Krym, Mark Carranceja and the Noisemaker team successfully channels the essence of classic hip hop videos without being overly nostalgic.

The three-time grammy nominated Dj, Producer and house music aficionado Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez grew up in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park and was one of the most prolific artists of the modern music age, has been entertaining and astounding the masses alike with his fusion of house, hip-hop, latin, jazz, soul, funk and broken beats. Here we have Kenny’s special live recording from the Bumpshop’s fourth anniversary and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.. Peace!!
Gonzales started his DJ career in 1985 organizing neighborhood block parties in his home of Brooklyn, New York, with his then musical partner, Mike Delgado. Under the Masters at Work moniker, the parties became quite successful and attracted Todd Terry who later borrowed the group’s name for two record releases. Terry returned the favor at a later date when he loaned Gonzalez a drum machine, which began his interest in producing beats.

JAYLIB “The Heist” by Rory Gamble and Demetrios Katsantonis
Jimmy Joey & Frankie Productions, Winnetka CA / Camera Operator, Animator, Editor: Rory Gamble. / Jaylib – J Dilla and Madlib – “The Heist” taken from the album Champion Sound (2003)
We want to thank Stones Throw for this generous and unique opportunity. We realize this song was released prior to the Donuts material but we had a hard time singling out any one song. We also wanted to see “The Heist” come to life with its great lyrics and potential for visual representation. So we apologize for any offense taken from mixing the two concepts. We just thought it was a cool way to have a donut MC. Hope you enjoy!

Bridging the gaps between jazz, hip hop and house. Thanks for listening… Enjoy! I’m a huge fan of Mark Farina’s Mushroom Jazz series which was a large inspiration behind this project. In some’s opinion he has turned Mushroom Jazz into a genre of its own. This is my tribute to Mushroom Jazz. Artists include: Joey Youngman, DJ Average Joe, Cubase Dan Anderson Ray, Billa Quase, Forrest Avery, King Kooba, The Incredible Funk League, Bottomfly, Colossus, James Bledsoe, Miguel Migs, Pieter J, Presto, Mark Farina, Anthony Molina, Collective Sound Members and many more..

This one is definitely a highly recommended album.. The Florida duo (Tallahassee) M.E.R.C. & DJ AtotheL drops a tribute project to A Tribe Called Quest, in which they are worked all the samples and made a fresh instrumental project all inspired by the chops from Tribes Album Midnight Marauders. Download the full album DayLight Marauders for free on Bandcamp after the jump.. Well Done!!
With Daylight Marauders we wanted to show people that Hiphop in Tallahassee and Florida, is not just about the stereotypical 76 beats per minute southern tracks, or uptempo bass tracks”, M.E.R.C. continues. “There is a real hip-hop scene here, with talented artists who work hard to release quality music, and appreciate the history and culture of hip-hop.” The Daylight Marauders mixtape is consistent throughout and my favourite track is “8 Million Stories”. They even rapped over The ARE’s “Lyrics To Stay” off Manipulated Marauders to bring it full circle.
